Motiv8 is shortlisted for a Northern Housing Award!
Motiv8 is absolutely delighted to be shortlisted as a finalist in the Resident Support/Advice Programme of the Year category of the Northern Housing Awards.
Motiv8 has been set up thanks to funding from the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund to help people aged over 25 to overcome multiple barriers preventing them from engaging with training, job search and employment opportunities and move them closer to training and work.
Since the programme went live in January 2017, Motiv8 has received more than 4,000 referrals to the programme. Our clients have achieved over 5,000 positive outcomes through improvement to health and wellbeing, self-confidence and development, and financial and employability skills. Over 600 people have gone on to find a job or start a training course following their journey with us.
Jigsaw Group is leading the Motiv8 programme with support from four other Manchester Athena housing providers – Stockport Homes, ForViva, Wythenshawe Community Housing Group and Bolton at Home. Manchester Athena is a partnership of social landlords across Greater Manchester, which was formed to work together to deliver employment and health programmes across the region.
Kerrie Pryde, Operational Director, Jigsaw Support, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for the Northern Housing Awards. This is a great testament to the work that our team and partners are doing to support some of the most vulnerable people across Greater Manchester. This includes people who are homeless, long-term unemployed, living with mental or physical disabilities and health conditions, drug and alcohol dependent or have other complex needs. It is very rewarding to see the difference we can make when people are supported to receive the help they need.”
The programme is also supported by a wide-range of specialist partners, including Home-start, Shelter, Migrant Support, Wai Yin Society, Challenge 4 Change and LGBT Foundation.
The Northern Housing Awards celebrate innovative housing providers, projects and services in the North. The winners will be announced at an awards event in Manchester on 23rd May 2019.
